10:30-12:30 Participatory analysis of restoration strategies/local priorities by region within corridor (Jim Fraser and Sarah Karpanty, Lead Facilitators)

Break out groups with mixture of local persons and scientists by region within corridor to identify and discuss local priorities for biodiversity and forest restoration. Knowledgeable translators will be present in each group. Each local leader will present priorities and concerns. Each participant will ask questions of leaders.

08:30-12:00: One-on-one interviews with Malagasy stakeholders and scientists by Dr. Eileen Crist to identify priorities for biodiversity and economic objectives of forest restoration. Translator present.

08:30-12:00 : Scientific Rapid Assessment. Break-out groups will work from the priorities identified in the participatory analysis to identify knowledge gaps and research priorities to achieve objectives for forest restoration. Groups organized by scientific discipline. Discussion of research priorities and any conflict between biodiversity and economic goals of forest restoration. Present summaries at the end of the morning.
